comparing shimano citicas

Post by bassman51 » Tue Apr 01, 2014 4:14 am

I would like to ask if there are major differences among the various models of citica reels. - 100dsv, 200e, and 200g. Thanks

These three reels each have a different form factor and overall shape. Of the three, I'd have to say the E palms better for me, with the 100dsv not far behind. The 100dsv and 200e were both manufactured in Japan, with the 200g being manufactured in Malaysia. All have about the same line capacity, with the 100dsv holding a little bit less than the other two.

Thank you for your response. I like the 100dsv the best. It's almost the same as the Curado 100b with one less bearing.

It actually is the same body as the Curado 100B.

Yup. And that "one less bearing" can be ordered from Shimano and installed in your Citica.

And for insight into how important (or not) that bearing is (bottom of crankshaft), the Citica 200D actually HAS that bearing (in that location) while the Curado 200D does not, and the curado is a good bit more refined...
