The CTE type handle may bolt on. I have not had much time to play with the finished sample reels. I only played with the prototype reels. This was not designed as a swimbait reel for bass. This was made for fishing saltwater and the bigger inline spinners for Muskie applications. It has roughly the same line capacity as the Trinidad 16 but in a low profile package.

Dan is this a new "Theme" for spool colors you guys are going with to identify gear ratios ? I noticed this in Curado G and Chronarch E. Now the 100mg7 Core has Grey as well ...

Silver 5.?:1 Black 6.?:1 and Grey 7.?:1 ?

JDM I think has some of their line up as Silver handle for 6.?:1 and a black handle for 7.?:1 ?

The Tranx is too big for my taste to use for a swimbait reel. Yes it will work. It's just not for me. If I could clamp it to a jig stick it would be my new inshore surface iron reel to fish what is still open on our coast ](*,) If you did hook a largemouth while using this reel you may give it vertigo. It would be in the boat within two handle turns

Yes that is the theme for the gear ratios moving forward...I think. This is true for Tranx, Chronarch E and Curado G and Core 100 Mg7 anyways.

I just snapped these with my cell phone for a quick comparison in size. This is the Core 100MG7 and Tranx 500HG.

I love that new 100MG7 though black aluminum thumb bar and bearings in the handle would of made the $400 price tag a little easier to swallow. I can't imagine brass gears and the power grips make the reel $50 more than the 100. Any other differences?

That tranx looks amazing, this reel will make history in the musky fishing world. I've dreamed of this reel for a decade.

Anything on the horizon in the high-end Shimano bass rods category? Will Shimano be trying to one up the NRX, or will they stick with the Cumulus for a few years and let g.loomis have the slightly better offering?

The Tranx will start shipping in February. As of right now there are no plans for a lefty. I think the Muskie anglers are going to love this reel for burning big bucktails.

The reason the price is up on the new Core is because of the exchange rates. We may see a price increase on the Core 100MG in the future. Lets hope the economy makes a comeback so the dollar is stronger again.

I doubt we see any higher rod offerings in the future. We are still keeping our products separate from GLoomis. That doesn't mean we aren't working on anything right now ;)

OnlyOneCanoli- What type of fishing are you planning to do? I can help recommend a rod if I had more info.

That's one hunk of a reel on the side by side comparison.

I did that to show the size. It might be a while before people can see the reel in person. It's hard to show exact sizes but the pics are pretty close.

I am planning on using the tranx high speed for burning bucktails like double 10-13's and for bigplastics for muskies. If the finances permit I would love a power one also, but the high speed is a musty have for me. I was two seconds away fro getting a trinidad 16NA or even a 16DC and then I saw the tranx was revealed so I was all in for it. I have a few conquests and 7 1/2 footers so Im probally looking for something in a 8 1/2 to 9 foot range in XH or maybe even XXH. Im not sure what you offer in thos ranges but a XH preadator from Thorne Bros may be the ticket. If you offer something in that range please give me any options. I am a shimano guy thru and thru as you can see from my collection. Tryed many others but always end up on the chopping block. I think in the terez line a MH or H is copmparable to the ones I was looking at. Thanks for any info you can give me.
