Question for Bantam1

Do you know if the Calais 200A spool weighs less than the Antares Mg spool? Mg spool is 14g.

Thanks!

I will need to order one out of inventory and weigh it for you. We did not have any in stock to weigh from the reel repair department.

*Update*
I will have the spool on Monday. I will weigh it and post the data at that time.

The spool weighs 16 grams on our scale.

Interesting. So the Mg spool is lighter even with the older SVS.

Thanks.

Magnesium is much lighter than Aluminum.

Yes, the raw metal weights are very different. But the aluminum spool being ported and with the lighter weight SVS system, I would have thought the aluminum spool is about the same or even lighter.
