New Sustain FE vs Stradic Fi
New Sustain FE vs Stradic Fi
Other than the number of bearings; what's the major differences between the new Sustain FE and Stradic FI. If it is just the bearings, does it make that much of a difference?
In an UltraLight setup (1000FE/FI) rod: St. croix LE 5'9" is it worth it to buy the new sustain over the stradic?

Re: New Sustain FE vs Stradic Fi
The bearing count and titanium coated spool lip on both the spare and the spool that comes with the reel. There might be more on the gearing side as well. I need to meet with Jeremy later this week so I can get more of this info.

Re: New Sustain FE vs Stradic Fi
What is the difference between the 2500 and the 3000 Stradic FI. Is it the body of the 2500 and just a bigger spool? Thanks
Re: New Sustain FE vs Stradic Fi
Yes the spool is the only difference. The body size is the same for the 2500 and 3000. The spool is deeper on the 3000 size to hold more line.

Re: New Sustain FE vs Stradic Fi
Also interested to know the differences between the the Sustain FE and Stradic FI. I'm shopping for a quality 1000-size spinning reel.
Re: New Sustain FE vs Stradic Fi
I answered this previously but here it is again.
The only difference between the Stradic and Sustain is the Titanium coated lip on the spool and spare spool for the Sustain. The Sustain also has more bearings. This is the reason for the $100 difference in cost.
The body, gears, drag, bail and oscillation are all the same between the two. The handle has bearings on the Sustain where the Stradic does not.

Was just saying I am, or was, interested. I thought there was gonna be a follow up if there's a difference in the gearing between the two. Never mind.

Bantam1 Do you know when the spinning reels will be for sale?
Re: New Sustain FE vs Stradic Fi
They will start shipping at the beginning of next month. They should start hitting the shelves early August.
