Re: Has Anyone Painted a Reel?
I just used the clear that came with the kit. That sounds like a a great idea. Where can I get some of that epoxy?

The paint section at Wal-Mart, it's about $2
DO NOT get the 5 minute, make sure it's the 30 minute. I've not used any other brand than Devcon. It comes in a syringe, and even has a stir stick, and a place to mix it Just apply it with a junk brush, then throw it away.

Re: Has Anyone Painted a Reel?
What a coincidence that this topic came up after I just got through painting my Curado 200BSF yesterday! It came out ok but I am not sure about the durability yet. I used DupliColor auto paint and 2 coats of clear. This reel was in perfectly good shape so I am mad at myself for just killing the resale value of this "classic". I was just bored and not loving the ugly green original finish.

Re: Has Anyone Painted a Reel?
Hey, Dave, are using a a fullsized spray gun or a finish gun? What type would you recommend? I am about to give it a try with auto paint. I have painted motorcycles in the past with great results but I used enamel paint. I am going to use your advice and go with urethane for the reels. Thanks!!

Re: Has Anyone Painted a Reel?
So we never did come up with someone on the forum that does reel painting. I have a Pflueger President that works as good as the day it came out of the box, but the rash factor is pretty bad. Has anyone had it done by an individual that does it as a business or a business itself?
