gear change

Post by D.R. » Tue May 30, 2006 2:59 am

Any one ever try to change the gear ratio on the Sol.

My next project on the Sol is to change the gear ratio from 5.8:1 to 6.3:1.

If someone has done this I would like to know please. It would save me a lot of leg work.

I e-mailed Daiwa a question about this. Like always It is a waiting game to here back from them.

Im not sure its gonna work the only gear set that might work would from a TD-Z. 5.8.1 is a great all around ratio.

The 5.8:1 is what it is know. It is a good all round reel. But, I have a problem with tinkeritis. I want to see if it can be done. If it cant then I will do it anyway.
