I've only ever done it to an SV spool. Is that what you're working on?

It's really not too bad. After some trial and error I've worked out a simple method. I'll add the steps for replacing the old black ramp. You'll need a gallon Ziploc bag, a precision flat blade screwdriver, electrical tape, a toothpick, a pair of hemostats, and some super glue.

Step 1) Place spool in Ziploc and use flat blade screwdriver to pop the e-clip and free the rotor. Pay attention to the way the washers are stacked on top of the spring.

Step 2) Pull rotor straight up off the axle.

Step 3) Use a toothpick to pop the old SV ramp off from the back side (bearing side) of the spool.

Step 4) Press updated ramp firmly into place.

Step 5) And here's the tricky part. Wrap one tine of the hemos in electrical tape. Using a very small drop of super glue (the gel kind works best) affix the e-clip perpendicular to the other tine near the tip. It will seat within one of the first few teeth. No need to let it dry all the way. Place the spool back in the Ziploc and replace the rotor, spring, and washers. Push them down with the toothpick to clear the space for the e-clip. Now, using the hemostats clip it back onto the axle and you're done.
This is the way.
