As the headline says; are the gears from the Alphas SV reels a direct fit in the older models?
I know that the plastic gear under the maingear is different but as the worm gear seems to be the same I thought it could be possible to swap the main gear, pinion and plastic gear.
Is it possible or do I have to find a gear set from an older reel?
Alphas SV gears in Alphas 103/F/R?

Gears are a direct swap.

Yes, the gear sets are just drop-in replacement. I have 4 Alphas and 3 Pixy reels with the 7.2 SV gears in them.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Thanks guys!
I have an Alphas F with the SV-spool and it's going to get the 7.2's.
Wouldn't mind an Alphas R with the high speed gears either...
I had an idea that the pinion gears were of different lengths in the older and newer version respectively.
It's always better to ask before parting with the cash for one or two Alphas SV 7.2 spare parts reels and yet another Alphas F
from Japan.
