anyone use or tried using CLR?

I was watching a video on lure rehab, and a guy throws some spinnerbait blades, clevis, brass weights, etc. that are very corroded. He throws it all into some CLR and it really seems to eat away the corrosion and shine things up. Just wondering if anyone has ever tried this with a brass gear set?

I'm sure it would work well for Brass Gears, But personally I feel it is easier to just polish through it. I just did some very corroded Gears on a Daiwa Luna 253, And it was particularly easy to just polish it all off with a horse hair brush and Fabulustre.
