TD-ito Project

Post by Beatles62 » Fri Aug 17, 2018 10:23 am

Hello TT,

This may not be the right location for this, but I have a little TD-ito 103M project going. I believe an addition of a carbon ito engineering handle (still working on obtaining one of these difficult) would be ideal but beyond that really looking for some great ideas to dress up this classic reel. Obviously the drag star must be replaced as well, I've been looking into some SLP for this. Any ideas or pics are welcome! Love to see what the TT guys have to say about this.

Thanks,
Sam

Yep that ZPI mjr colored spool is a dead perfect match to the Ito. I had one several years back and I miss it now. I would say get some brand new drag washers too. The two Ito’s I’ve owned had super stuttery stock drag. Carbontex fixed that problem quick. I put brass gears in one of mine, and 6.3 steez aluminum gear in another. Both reels were smooooooth! The Ito 103 might be my favorite reel ever to look at and use. Never change those stock knobs though, that would be sacrilege!!!!

You can have the factory star and CC cap anodized by HawgTech if you want. They do that stuff all the time. Did it for my Curado 50E a while back.

Thanks Everyone! little update I obtained a ito engineering handle. So I believe that was the hard part and of course I'll keep the knobs on the handle no way would those change.

I had 7 of the I'ze Factory 90mm handles at one point lol!
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.
