spool bearing pin removal tool
Re: spool bearing pin removal tool
Obviously, I wasn’t paying attention to the diagram. My bad. I really should invest in quality calipers. I’ve just been eyeballing the pin and the pin hole.

I have a similar one to this.. The male part bent and I would advise anyone to be careful of this.mark poulson wrote:Thank you. That looks like just what I need.

True...i had a hedgehog model too and the male part just bent ....
the steel is too soft to support a male part so long and so thin
i believe that is also the reason why hedgehog sells as spare part only the shaft.
I recently bought a boca bearing special plier for pin removal and works just fine with both type of spools (with long shaft or free floating)

I’ve used the Reel Speed spool pin pliers for many years with great success. Much faster than tools that require a handle screw. Dawn at Smoothdrag had some for sale, but they can be hard to find
