Alphas spool compatibility

Post by maibinenu » Fri Feb 02, 2018 3:57 am

Hi
I have a Daiwa Sol baitcast reel and intend to buy a lighter spool for it
On Hedghehog site i noticed the spools : Alphas Air and Alphas SV
While i know that alphas SV will fit I am not sure about Alphas AIR .

Do the Alphas Air spool fit into the Daiwa Sol reel ?

No they will not. The air spools are a different diameter, 32mm, vs the stock alphas/sol 33mm.
I like TD-Z's

It fits but leaves a gap. The Air spool is a 32mm vs the 33mm of the TD Sol spool

As Bryan said you would have a gap and would need to add spacers to make it work reliably. DIY spool, cosugi works spool,or the megabass finesse spool are direct fit options.
