I have mine sitting in a SS SV so far. I did get to test it out yesterday, and will post a review in the user review thread. You don't need a BFS specific rod to test out the capabilities down to 3 grams, just leave longer line when you cast and swing it out.

Anyone tried a pair of these? How do they fare against HH Air/HH Air BFS or Boca OS7?

A pixy spool would be amazing.

Is it ok to spool these spools with 10 lb braid?

Nothing specified by manufacturer, but it should be fine with a ml or lighter rod and drag set not too locked down.

I have a set of these on order for my FX73:

I haven't used any other upgraded bearings so I can only compare with stock when they come in.

Cool. Let us know when they arrive, i was also eyeing that model of bearings. I wonder what ABEC rating they have (probably not rated on an ABEC scale like the HH bearings, tho).

Which ones!? There are so many on that list. The ceramic hybrids with the orange seals?

At $20 a pair ( on sale now from HH) the Air BFS are really hard to stray away from...and we know they are rated higher than ABEC 9 .
Just sayin. Things we can save on without sacrificing performance and things that I'd need hard data (some rating is a good start) on before I went a out trying to save a few bucks , literally.

that's what i use and love em BUT its $20+ ~$15 shipping and its not so cheap anymore. Plus they're rated for small lures, can't/shouldn't throw 1oz lures on these.

I Think their shipping is $9 now. I always end up buying more than just one set of bearings.
I use those specific bearings as an example due to the spools we are talking about. Not sure how many 1 oz lures are being tossed with these.
;)

Bottom line, there are things you can get away with cutting corners on and speculated about , and then there are spool bearings.

Agree about the 'shouldn't cheap out on a good pair of bearings'.
