What is your opinion of its performance after some time using it?

Hello, Friend!
After 6-7 times of using this spool, i can say, that its best chineese DIY 34 mm spool, that i had. Universal, i can change rod while fishing and use one reel with both of my 2 rods (3-14 g, 7-21 g). Very comfortable casting for all types of baits (spoon, jig-head, no-sinker soft bait): mechanic brake with no "side-to-side" play, and 4-8 on external dial.

I have a question for anyone with a Tatula 80 and KKR spool. How does it skip? How does the stock spool skip? These reels are going for $113 on Aliexpress. Very tempting.

Wow, they have a deeper 34mm spool now. Might have give one a try. I ordered the Metanium spool and the plastic shaft didn't fit inside my pinon gear. I think my pinon gear might be bent slightly, hence nosier then I recalled.Loafer wrote: ↑Mon Sep 25, 2023 4:22 amHello, Friend!

I have that spool, unfortunately I haven't tried skipping on it or the stock spool. If I recalled correctly, it's more controlled than I expected for these lightweight spools. I was using brakes 7-8 for Free Rigging 1/4 - 3/8oz. Typically, my AMO spool and another similar DIY spool on a 2016 Steez, brake 12 is the lowest I can go no matter weight. Will need more time on it.
For the price, it's my favorite frame right now and love how solid feeling it is. I think the stock spool can spool enough 30-50lb Power Pro Max C for 90% of bass fishing. Also picked up the Gomexus shallow spool for $18 bucks for true BFS setup. Great versatility coming with this reel.
AliExpress price is even better if you wait for coupons, I grabbed the red Salamandura SV TW 70 for $110 and it came in 1 week.

I recently had the same thought. However, they are still much cheaper than ZPI and KTF. Even at current prices, they still offer a solid cost-to-performance ratio (imo).
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

That's the thing, when you buy zpi, ktf, i'ze factory, etc, you grab em in used condition, not new. If you do, prices for the most part aren't ridiculous (unless its an ultra rare spool of course), and you get the best there is.hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Wed Mar 06, 2024 5:32 amI recently had the same thought. Yeah but the quality has gone though the roof. Those early spools shipped came cardboard packaging with ads featuring the spool imposed and hovering over a stock photograph of a spinning reel like a UFO. They had inductors that would come unglued and the bearings were really hit or miss.
