Steez 103HLA Sideplate Won't Close

I am servicing a Steez 103HLA and the sideplate will not close. It works just fine without the spool in the reel, but with the spool in the frame the sideplate refuses to seat properly. Its driving me nuts…..any ideas?

You need to back off tension on the cast control knob. Peace.

this is a lefty reel i am servicing, which throws off my tai chi ninja focus big time, as some but not all threads are backwards….
