Finding Inductor Springs

Post by Nevrsumma » Sat Aug 02, 2014 12:13 am

Simple question, Does anyone know where I can purchase the springs used in the Daiwa spool inductors? I have been attempting to remedy the sticking SV inductor issue by using a slightly higher tensioned spring, However I am not sure where to source these types of small springs. I have tried the standard hardware store assortment but the spring tension and thickness was much too great for this purpose. I figured if an answer could be found anywhere, it would be through the TT tuning community. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!

I would look at a hobby shop such as Hobby Lobby. They have lots of small hardware pieces for RC use that also work in reels. Not sure about these exact springs but its worth a shot. Good luck.

Would a modified spring from an ink pen maybe work?

That sounds like good advice, and you might be able to get a firmer or softer spring to customize performance to your taste. Good luck!

not 100% sure, i'll have to check, but a yoke spring from a 103 size millionaire or luna may work....but that may be too strong(assuming it fits, which i will check when i get home)
