Re: Zillion upgrade
There are a TON of options:
Carbontex Drag
Full Polish by one of our fine members
Upgrade to another aluminium handle (If CF isn't your thing)
Carbon Fiber handle
New knobs for the aforementioned handle
Anodized color parts
Calfish paint job
New star drag and/or cast control knob
And quite a few other options I'm sure other's will mention

e_bassfisher he's a mad scientist!
Not sure if it was mentioned above but the best upgrade I did to one of mine was a PE I'ze PE shallow long cast spool.

I really like the Type R star drag. I have it on all my Zillions. I also have Carbontex drags in all of mine. Another good upgrade is adding bearings to the knobs.

Re: Zillion upgrade
Nice stuff. Can I add bearings to the stock handle??
Re: Zillion upgrade
If it's a JDM Zillion yes. If it's a US version nope, they're riveted on. But you can call Daiwa and buy a zillion 50th anniversary handle for about 45 bucks or so, or what I may do they sell the t3 handle for around $40, and it's pretty sweet looking. I think it comes with 2 bearings, not sure if it's upgradable to 4 or not. But for that price, and the light weight might be a good option.fish_finder1 wrote:Nice stuff. Is the Type R star drag just an aesthetic upgrade or does it affect the drag?thelatrobe33 wrote:I really like the Type R star drag. I have it on all my Zillions. I also have Carbontex drags in all of mine. Another good upgrade is adding bearings to the knobs.

Re: Zillion upgrade
I like it aesthetically/ergonomically speaking. It's taller so it's easier to adjust on the fly.Micropterus salmoides wrote:Is the Type R star drag just an aesthetic upgrade or does it affect the drag?thelatrobe33 wrote:I really like the Type R star drag.
