Shimano Tuning Data Repository

Post by y2k88 » Sat Jan 07, 2012 10:34 pm

Well, just to give the competition a run for their money  ,
Shimano should have their own Tuning Data Repository.

In Google Docs format:

Thank you for sharing the product of significant time invested!

It would be helpful to know the weight of the VBS/SVS units. Anybody know?

Hi,

Nice specs!
Are you sure that the following tuning works?
Curado 201E + Avail SCPXT1539 spool + Avail mag brake?

Reg /T
Live 2 fish <>< , forced 2 work.

VERY, VERY NICE, y2k88! =D> =D> =D>

Thought of doing the same some time back, but put it off. Thanks for putting this up and investing the time and research in composing this document. =D>
JDM quality is unsurpassed. Period.

Hmm, it won't work with the SHSC-05A (typical one for Shimaon).

They say that they plan to make/sell one for the Scorpion 1500XT/Curado E, but in the interim, you need to remove the SVS/VBS unit from the stock spool and transfer that over to the Avail spool.

I can't say 100% the spool will fit in the Curado 200E, but I'm more or less confident that it would.

Can we get a sticky on this?!?!?!

Also, you could add the Yumeya spools for many of these reels, I know zenbasser has some of the info on those.

Updated with the Yumeya spools.

The beauty about Google Docs is that anyone can add to the spreadsheet.
So if you've actually weighed something, or want to add a reel, or want to add a spool, why not share? 8-)

Added a few tuneup spools and an edit or two...

Another suggestion - how about posting or linking this sticky in the Shimano forum? that way Bantam1 can look things over and maybe verify or add data of his own :D

Ehhhhhh...I like to keep these things free of OEM influence. ;)
