Cont.

The Stella F cowles were a bit of a highlight for me - loved doing that reel and getting more done. Pity the reel was on sold.

Yes.
Depending on the gear makeup or surface coating or hardening process.
It may or may not get "bright"
It will polish well..but it will look like it's wet...instead of being a mirror finish.

I did a video of me polishing the gear of three reels with Steez, antares, mgxtreme2.
The all brass looks like a gold watch. The other two main gears look wet.
The pinions all glow!

As per the owners of this sites wishes. Since my channel is monetized. I can't link them.

Cannot find the right bristles anywhere locally. Going to order some I guess. I got a cheap Dremel style tool from Harbor Freight, works fine. Used one of the brushes that came with it and it exploded the second it touched the brass. Bought the cheap brass polish from Wal-Mart, will that work???

Question about polishing gears. I've read/heard from someone that polishing gears from a Steez will cause the "smoothness" to go away. Has anyone experienced this?

I don’t think the micro module gears make reels much smoother, however they do kind of change the feel a bit. The best way to explain it is that it changes the pitch of the reel a bit. You still feel gears, but there’s a different, less gritty resonance there

Anodizing gives a hardened, smooth, flat surface. Polishing the gears will likely remove or compromise the micro-layer of hard anodization.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Anodising gives a form of lubrication - hence Tuffram etc.
