Can someone confirm that AMO deeper spool (zpi looklike) will fit to Zillion SV TW?
Thank you for the feedback.
I would go with the Ray's Studio Long Cast 34mm spool over the AMO. Just because we have feedback on how that spool performs in that reel and no feedback yet on how the AMO performs. Loafer tests the spool in a Zillion SV TW in his review at some point.

What's the verdict on the AMO ZPI lookalike (34mm)...? Let me know if you have one and which reel you have used it in.
Thanks in advance!
Works great in older 103 reels. In my LIN10 1016 there is a fitment issue and the spool bearing is too tall so the spool wont seat all the way in. Works great in my SS SV103/105. Awesome spool for older 103 reels. Can to both power and finesse. Spool bearing is VERY noisy however. The Ray's Long Cast 34mm spools are really fast in older 103 reels so the AMO spool is nice for those reels. Definitely worth picking one up for an older Steez or TD-Z.
have you tried it in newer reels? i was considering buying one for my steez A tw, and use it also in an OG zillion with spacers...

is it more of a controlled spool like for example older zpi rc001 and fixed inductor zillion PE (the only 2 fixed inductor spools i've used) or more on the wild side??
I haven't but a user did on page 56. He did some casting with the spool in a 19 morethan PE which is the same platform as the steez A. In my case I have both the 34mm Ray's Long Cast and the 34mm AMO. I find the Ray's ideal in 1016 reels but way too fast in my 103 reels (SS SV103 and Steez LTD). The AMO is great in those reels and doesn't even fit my LIN10 1016 but I have not tried other 1016 reels. I only have the two LIN10s and two T3s for 1016 reels. I do prefer the Ray's in my IS73 despite being a 103 reel because the magnets are so strong that the under braking spools performs very well in those reels. In a megabass IS the Ray's behaves like an AMO in a regular steez 103.
So the IS73 has stronger magnets than the OG Steez 103? Interesting. I have a Roro that is way under braked in a T3 Ballistic. I'll try it in my IS instead, as I haven't liked other spools in that reel so far.

Yep. Its night and day differnt too between my SS SVs magnets and my IS73 magnets.

Hmm. I just reread the Rays long cast review with the adjustable fixed mag brake. I was planning on putting that in my TDZ lefty pitching reel, but based on that thread the spool will be uncontrollable in it. I'd like to put the Roro shallow BFS spool in the IS because it is also ultra fast and the IS platform is great for BFS applications anyway. The FX73 is the only other reel I have that might be a good fit. I don't know how it's magnets compare to the T3 Ballistic, but it didn't do well with the Roro spool and Trilene XL.

Noob question here. Are TDZ and old gen Steez magnets not swapable? I've never tried. I actually have my IS73 magnets in my SS SV103 to take a wild BFS spool and the SS SV spool and magnets in the IS73 for a future dedicated skipping rig. In my case those are all old gen Steez reels so I can swap sideplates from reel to reel to play with spools/magnet combos.

Recently picked up AMO for my SS SV 103 and was too wild for me. Found a local deal on Zillion SV TW for $150 :D to use the spool on the SS SV 103 and try the AMO on the Zillion.

Initial impressions on the Zillion, a lot more controlled, but can be wild with loosen tension and lower brakes.

Casted Ned 1/32 head with Missile Nedbomb, castable but not super impressive distance. Same as my spinning setups I'de say, again it's a light bait. Might need to switch to tiny child rig, those sling hella far probably due to less drag.

Casted 100-110mm Jerkbaits pretty far.

Casted 1/2 oz Dark Sleepers well. Seems like it out casted spinning combo with 7'6 rod and 15lb Slick V2 braid.

All casted on 10lb Suffix Advance (line diameter probably more between 12lb-15lb FC imo) and 6'8 Medium Cumara rod.

Are OG Steez magnets stronger or weaker than TDZ magnets? I've always loved casting my TDZ and Zillion Reels, but the Steez variants I have never really impressed me. A Steez 103 with a T3 Ballistic spool for cranks was the only time I actually felt a touch of wow factor. It seemed ultra fast but still didn't blow up if memory serves. I assumed Steez magnets were on the weaker side.

I've heard that the early Steez did have weaker magnets than the later Steez with the enlarged gearboxes. I only have the two SS reels and an LTD which are all later versions of gen 1 except for the IS73. I would like to have an early Steez considering how cheap they are and for the Type R spool in them.

Roro has a 33mm spool for Alphas. Can't find it on Aliexpress yet but it is on their site. You can choose from a thick inductor or thin inductor version.

The older steez100 and steez103 have much weaker mangets than any of the tdz reels. I have a 103 that when used with dry ceramic hybrids, you can't even use any spool full of 16lb fluoro, its just too fast. You set the brakes to 10, tighten cast control to the point your lure is barely falling, and still, if you put some force into your cast, the spool blows up. Even on fixed inductor spools such as the zpi rc-001 & 2 its not usable. Originally thought the glue holding the magnets broke off and messed up the magnetic fields, but that's not the case. You install a standard pair of meta bearings, and its much more manageable.

Thanks for the replies. Roro BFS ported spool will go in the IS. Rays adjustable inductor long cast spool will go in a TDZ 105 I just got that is in great condition. I'll then try the TDZ105 Gigas spool in the Steez I guess. Anyone have an extra R+ inductor laying around?

Bumping this up to the top, there’s now a pretty well priced aluminum drag star available for Daiwa. It’s the screwless design from what I can tell, but still interesting 🤔

AMO spool for BM3, Revo4X, Revo4S and maybe others. AMO makes a quality product. 8.3 grams with bearing.
