G.Loomis GLX 892c for Speckled Trout??

Post by esvangler » Sat Jul 14, 2018 12:45 am

First post dudes!!

Ive been debating on getting a GLX 892C for inshore speckled trout and redfish. Does any else have experience here or know anyone who does?? I would primarily throw 1/4oz DOA shrimp and some possible finesse-ier baits. But with this being my first higher end rod purchase, I don't want to get the rod and it end up not having enough back bone to handle the occasional 15lb puppy drum and black drum..

Help!

I fish a lot inshore and I wouldn't advise it for seatrout fishing; will be too stiff for the DOA shrimp. I have the NRX Inshore spinning and E6X Inshore. For me, I would use the E6X Inshore 902 with 4K size spinner and 10# braid for DOA shrimp. I use that a lot for sight fishing tripletail and smaller roller tarpon with DOA shrimp as well as bonefish with jigs.
