Trying to figure out a good replacement for my split rings and hooks on some of the LC Pointers I throw in the surf. What are you guys using that holds up fairly well in SW?

Owner is what I have always used.

Owner split rings. Currently using the VMC inline singles.

What are you targeting/ location/ current.
In my neck of the woods stripers to 50lbs and bluefish to 20. Upwards of a 3kt current

I'll use wolverines and big singles on them as well

The ones at lurepartsonline are the best. They have an XX-strong model (not the triple ring as its too heavy)

I've always been happy with Owner. Solid choice.

vmc or owner inlines ... owner split rings always.

Owner are the best I have found.

Do not like Owner hooks in saltwater, because they rust.
Split rings are great though.

Switched completely from Owner to Gamakatsu.
Nanosmooth Coat for freshwater.
Hyper Shield for saltwater.

Gamakatsu Hyper Shield...Hmm, I've been using the 3x Eagle Claw from Walmart (dark grey)- they're 'alright'.

Best place to get the Hyper Shield?

I'm trying the hypershield now but the red colored eagle claws did seem to hold up better than black nickel hooks for me in salt.

Vanfook and BKK are my preferred

It's DECOY split rings and trebles for me. Better strength to weight ratio, and better corossion resistence than Owner and Gama in my opinion.

Owner Hyperwire size 3 and STX-38zn on the FM110 Hyperwire size 4 and STX-38zn on the Surf pointer. If I run in lines the owner single replacement in 2/0 and eliminate the middle hook.
