Nice fishy! Those are what keeps you going back. I've just been getting into the salt a couple of years ago. We've started going to Fla in the winter. Two years ago, I guess, I was only there for 2 months Feb and March and I don't think I got out but a couple of times in February. But in March I caught two Reds (for my first) and both above the slot in a tidal creek. Awesome. And a couple of smaller ones. They're not fighters, per se, but they are so powerful, they keep you working at it till you get them out. Don't know about yours, but all mine as soon as they and you know their hooked, is they turn and run right for the oyster beds or marsh grass and you gotta work quick to stop 'em and get them turned around, and then they were a load to get it. I was down most of the Winter last year, but didn't catch much, but all winter or not, I think I was just after a lot of activity and had to leave in April and things were just starting to open up. Strage season and no one was having much luck, surf, pier, or creeks and river. But every time I go to that creek, hopes springs eternal and I'm waiting to latch on to one of those big buggers. Always next year? This year, I'm getting down before things peter out and hopefully stay longer in the Spring.

You are "ruint" now. You will have to decide which comes first bass or reds! I like me some inshore fishing too!

Nice, I also just caught my first redfish. We are fishing the upper Chesapeake bay and it is very unusual for the redfish to get that far north but we caught 7 nice ones on a Saturday and Sunday. We also caught numerous Stripers. The fish were all between 20" and 30". We were using light tackle and 6 lb. line. We actually followed one of the Redfish with the boat because it pulled out most of my line. A lot of fun. Also went to Florida and caught my first snook. One of them was around 40". Can't wait to get back out and catch some more redfish. Tried to upload picture but got file too big message.

Nice looking one. Little too big for my taste.
I only keep the ones between 20-24"

I probably shouldn't be the one to answer what is red fishing like since I have only caught 3 but I would say they fight better than a striper. I haven't caught any blues in a while so hard to compare but from what I remember they shake their head like a blue. One fish I had hooked made a very impressive long run. I definitely will target them in the future.
