Does anyone have both reels? I was looking at the 5000 size for lures only.
If so is there a big difference in performance, power? How is the handle on the New Sustain.
Thank you
Stella SW VS Sustain FG
Re: Stella SW VS Sustain FG
I have both, the sustain in 3000 (does not go to 5000) and the Stella sw , The stella beats it yet I use it for larger applications.
The knob on the sustain is the same that is on the stradic ci4 feel wise.

That helps thanks. Looks like Stella is the better.

You also get shimano platinum service with Stella reels. You can also upgrade the spool to a jdm stella 6000sw for more line capacity.
Re: Stella SW VS Sustain FG
I know its late. But the big advantage is the SW is virtually waterproof. It can withstand repeated dunkings. The only thing I wouldn't do is crank it underwater.
I have numerous SW8k and 10k reels that I use for surf duty (used to have a pair of ZeeBaas early model GEN 2 junk) and serve double duty for BFT to 150lbs. PG's for Jigging and Standard for popping. I also have a sustain 8k and numerous Saragosas ranging from 6-10k all used for inshore bass and surf.
I would take a gosa over a sustain anyday if used in the surf.
Google what not to do with your saragosa. THis explains why.
I like to break stuff!!! LOL
