BAM on the Water: The Saltwater

Post by BassAnglerMagazine » Fri Aug 19, 2011 4:10 pm

Bass Angler Magazine's Editor-in-Chief Mark Lassagne takes a day in the bay with bass angler Jodie White and his boys Joseph and Johnny. With a start in Berkley they ended up 5 to 10-miles outside of the gate. Lassagne called to say, "We are in pursuit of the almighty big trout, in other words, king salmon."

It was a cold, cloudy day in the Bay as seen in the pictures. A 90-degree day on the Delta came in at almost half as hot near the Gate. Lassagne reported, "It is cold and wet from the waves; it is a bit over 55-degrees in the middle of August."

The anglers mooched for halibut with live anchovies and trolled for salmon with the same bait behind a flasher.
"I had a good time and will go again; but, it is not nearly as fun as bass fishing; but now we have dinner," remarked Lassagne.
