i have crunched down the numbers and i reached a point where i must decide between these two.
what do you all think?
thank you
Daiwa Millionaire CV Z300 or Shimano Calcutta Conquest 400??
Re: Daiwa Millionaire CV Z300 or Shimano Calcutta Conquest 4
I haven't used either one of those models, but have used
conventional reels by both brands and I would have to side
with Shimano on this one. They just know
to how manufacture a good baitcaster.
Have you bought one or the other yet?

Re: Daiwa Millionaire CV Z300 or Shimano Calcutta Conquest 4
i have bought the Shimano finally. Comparing to Daiwa, it is almost double size. Actually the amazing thing is how Daiwa managed to fit everything in such a small place. Ok, the Daiwa reel takes quite less line comparing to Shimano. But still, i can see the technological wizzarderies here...
actually, Shimano is built like a tank, that is what made me buy it. it looks inpenetrable, like a piece of brass (it:s aluminium actually) and it looks like you can play football with it and then go fishing. while Daiwa looks more like the other freshwater conventional reels i have for bass.
i haven:t tested it yet in real conditions, but for sure it looks great. the price was 360 USD plus the power handle, this one negligible if you look at the tag price of the reel. by the way, one bad thing: Shimano comes with a normal twin handle which is difficult to be used for deep water fishing, therefore i had to replace it.
