Almost strange to see spinning gear in the salt. There is a HUGE bias for casting reels here in So Cal.

In the show Fishing the Flats I see the host, Henry Waszczuk, almost always using spinning reels even for big game. Some of those spinning reels are huge. And for light power rods, he uses two-piece ones.

He fishes Florida and the Carribean.

Frankly speaking, I'm a baitcaster fanatic, but once an incident where my Conquest 201 almost slipped off from my grip due to extremely hard strike and initial run makes me think to use a BC again for saltwater fishing.

And there is few incidents where my fellow angler almost had their BC set thrown into the sea upon hard running fish.
