i plan to build new setup for drifting and midwater fishing.
my target is dorado,wahoo and cobia.
i in confused to choose which reels is suitable that able to sustain
harsh environment and have lot of cranking power.
i also want my reel last longer.
my choices is calcutta 700,penn 975 and abu big game 10000.
anybody have info about these 3 reels.
another thing about rod,which rod that have plenty backbone power?

i have a calcutta 400 and a international 955 for stripers. i think the international has better drag, and the calcutta is smoother. another reel to look at is the penn torque 100. i use lamiglas tri-flex for for all saltwater

Another two are the CTE400 or CTE700. Pricey but beautifully made, I've run into alot of folks who love these reels to death. If the drag isn't to your liking, you can always upgrade to something like carbontex.
