Hi, what lures do you people use when fishing for stripers in the ocean
from a boat and how do you use them?

How I do it is Wire them on the troll.
I wireline them normally from my whaler. Use a string of hootchies with a worm tail. Drag about 3 to 8 of them, depending if your used to it or not. Use a three way rig. Very effective if you know the reefs in your area. Inside the bay you are required to use not more than 3 hooks. Outside anything goes. Use large hooks.

This works with halibut too.

I must worn you, its work and you can get a hook in your hand very easily. Watch your prop.

Its more like meat fishing. Commercial guys (normally in 17 whalers) do this alot.
