Chatterbait Bass for Fish1971

Post by fish1971 » Thu Jun 01, 2006 9:03 am

Guys,
I went to try out the new baits yesterday afternoon. It was a perfect day to fish, overcast skies. During the first few casts with a steady retrive, I have no takers. I'm about ready to leave to my next spot....BAM, so I slam the hook home. Little dink about 12in. A few more casts later... BLAM, but it turns out to be a tree limb. :( I take this as a sign to move on to my next spot. ;)

About my 4th cast at my 2nd spot...BLAM BAM, I can tell this is BIG MAMA. My heart is pounding when I first see her. I say to her " Please don't jump, I'll let you go!!! " It's a battle for the first few minutes, but I won the war. :!:

I had 3 bites, but caught 2 fish. 1 Dink and this Lunker. I've used ChatterBait before, but this is the largest one caught. Special thanks to the wife. She drove from home to take these photos.

Thanks, fish1971

Thanks Guys,
I was stoked when I landed her .:-c I forgot to tell the wife to bring the digital scale with the digital camera. I thought about sending the wife back home, but I did not want to keep her out of the water much longer. I'd hate to see die, so I released her.
 You know how fish stories goes...everytime the fish gets larger! What do guys think she weighed? Honestly, I think she'll weigh between 8lbs-10lbs.
