I will always cherish my Pixy from Oz. Major gratitude to you too Aaron for finding it for me. Say "G' day" to Mat for me when you go in and buy the last NIB orange Pixy on the planet. :D

there is a shallow spool available for the SMAK. not sure if it would be considered an upgrade since the SMAK does come w/ the cork arbor, but it does seem to match the orange sideplates quite nicely in the pics...

I'll say!!! That looks Gr8! What's the little slit in the middle of the spool for? Some sort of new fangled way to tie braid to the spool? I wonder if the shallow spool would have a quicker start up than the stock spool? That would make it a legal upgrade for a guy like me who uses the SMAK almost exclusively for pitchin. I wonder if BBill or Jun could source one of those?

i believe the groove in the middle of the spool helps catch the knot to prevent braided line from slipping. the millionaire cv-x (u.s.) spools have the same thing. the larger arbor of the shallow spool would probably have lower startup inertia than the stock spool sans cork arbor...

That is pretty neat. I wonder what the line capacity is? It probably wouldnt work out for my worm rig, but I would bet it would be great for Pitchin rig. If you check into it and get any additional information on it, please pass it along.

That Evergreen Steed sure didn't come free in a big box of Wheaties.

I *may* go deeper into the Megabass madness by two more sticks (Espada and 7-11) if the Jabber Evo FTi has the fastest recovery I've ever felt. I'll know in a week or two... ;)

PE 1 = 2lb (u.s)
PE 1.5 = 4lb
so line cap is ~153yds/2lb, ~109yds/4lb

Tomorrow...maybe, just maybe I can grab 30 minutes before dark to run down to the boat dock and try the new Jabber out. The monkey's paw weighs heavy on my shoulder this season...what with the orange urges and all. :laugh1:
