What part of the lake did you catch it in? I had a 9.71 off of Shag Rock the summer before last. I was packed and ready to make the 11.5 hour trip to Clearlake all of this last August, but I never had the chance to go because of the fires. I think that I will have to fish an extra week this summer to make up for it! I'm not sure that there is anything left to burn.

You should have made the trip! There was hardly anyone on the lake and the fishing was really good.

The motel that I stay at was fairly close to the fire lines. I was afraid to pull the trigger. I'm a stickler about my boat not being filthy. I didn't want to stay in the south end either. I had a feeling that I should have gone anyway!

Hes a local boy too. Ironically the 6lb smallie was caught on a Megabass XX prototype that used to be his.
