The SS SV 103H on steroids

Post by BARRAMANIAC » Sun Oct 21, 2018 3:45 am

The last one I am sharing as all ready shared the SV light a couple weeks ago.
This one has 7.3 zillion limited gears, carbontex drag and drag clicker from Oleg, steez A spool , original spool bearings flushed and treated with tsi321. Steez nose piece, OG Zillion line guide modified by elongating the hole for the level wind screw. OG JDM zillion mag dial centre, zillion SV cast control cap, 85mm SLP carbon handle and hi grip knobs
Edit. forgot to add that it has a steez drive shaft and screw from a steez A

Sweet. Seems like the SS SV is a great inexpensive modding platform. Many spool options and parts galore.

Beautiful reel from an underappreciated platform. I would like to know if the SV103 drag star works on the SS/SV. Cannot find the Tatula Type R Zaion ones anymore. I also really enjoy the Steez A spool in my SS/SV, has been great for cranks down to 1/4oz and jerkbaits. Another question I had was about the gears, I would love to add brass, but the main kit I find available is the 8.1 gear ratio kit and it's around $70. Would much rather have the 7.3 Zillion gears you mentioned, but didn't know if it was an easy swap or required further modifications. The 8.1 kit comes with all of the eared washers and carbontex drag washers ready to drop in.

Zillion gears are a direct swap. There is a weight gain but also a good drag increase. You will need the zillion drag plates as well. The SS will take any of the Daiwa clicking drag star. The Zaion stars I use I order from PLAT. They are T3 air drag stars. Steez 100SH gears are also a direct swap as well and are basically the same as zillion gears but alloy main gear

What parts do I need to do the drag upgrade? Part numbers for which reel? What's the lowest gear ratio that can be swapped?

Thank you!!
