Thanks to Mr. GW and the crew from Triple T! 4 zpi spools, 3 PG and 1 M have arrived safely. I am super stoked to get these on the water I've never had the pleasure of any zpi school so consider my cherry blasted

Cristo..those are simply amazing looking. I will eventually jump on a megabass reel. My only hesitaiton so far is they seem to fit in the catagory of "style over substance". (don't get me wrong, I like style!) Performance wise both stock and upgraded, how would you compare a Megabass reel to Daiwa and Shimano's highest end fare? (Steez, Morethan PE SV, Metanium, Exsence ect...anyone of the ones you have handled)

Mine arrived this weekend also! Popped my cherry this morning (ha ha). Calm water, hot, was lucky to get a little bite. Was zinging 'em though. All I had was 1/2 oz hard baits for that rod, but they flew like bullets

Let me start off and state that my current list of reels has been substantially cut back I have had the pleasure of great many reels. Unfortunately with the newer stuff I do t have much experience, because I started getting turned off by newer body styles and extra gimmicks/techs that in my hands proved very little in worth. I fish older company interations from Shimano, and Megabass/Daiwa. In my hands the body that Megabass used for their upgraded version is
exquisite. Very clean and refined. I love them and out of the box perform extremely well. I have caught numbers of fish and thankfully managed to keep them clean. These are not shelf queens so when they get a chip or ding it will suck but such is life when you use gear in any hobby. As far as comparisons there's a great many reels that can do what these can in my opinion and in fact I think they're probably better reels but when it's all said and done this is a high-quality piece of equipment that works extremely well and will work even better now that I got some great upgraded Parts in these spools. So in my opinion it's not really fair to compare a lot of other reels to this one as in my opinion this one is in a class all of its own but with that being said there are also a lot of other reels that can compare to it as far as performance . Performance is often subjective to with reels some people like some reels While others don't same old story here like rods and everything else it's all about what you think and how you feel and what you're willing to spend when it comes down to it period again with that being said I think they're quite a number of reels at will perform or outperform nowadays with the Technologies, costs, the quality of build. With all that being said obviously I paid to play in this situation.

side note I fished my 13 Metanium a "sheet" ton, loved loved that reel too bad Mano ruined it IMHO with the damn useless additional brake dial So she got kicked out of the stable I would say out of the newer reels that I had experience that I would have taken over the Steez/IS platform at the time. Side note my inventory now has been reduced to four Shimano 201e type reels (Curado, Chronarch, Scorpion xt 1501 &1501-7), six 51e type (Curado, Chronarch, Scorpion xt 1001, 09' Aldebaran, 14' Brenious and 12' Aldebaran BFS XG) and of course the four Megabass IS platforms. All my round reels and everything else newer and old have been whittled down. Those are the platforms I love to use the most like I said I haven't had a chance to use all the newer stuff but I stopped using some of the newer stuff just as I stated above wasn't liking the new technology body styles just everything as a whole wasn't very exciting for me. Anyway hope that gives you a kind of picture of what I use and what I've been able to compare them to. Oh and the Daiwa was I'm trying to get over the T Wing thing for some reason I just cannot get on board with that or the tatula body styles they singing use on all the reals now are just god-awful to for me. With that being said though I hear the tea Wings pretty damn awesome I just have a problem with it The only thing they haven't screwed up in my opinion is the alphas Style reel but I imagine a vag Wing will come on that one too

Hopefully someone will chime in on the digital reels as I've never fished them, never had a desire.

I have a feeling that when you try some vag (wing), you'll enjoy the way it feels. I like it particularly after dark. No fuss, no muss. Can't see sheet? No problem. Just let 'er rip.

Yes I'm itching closer and closer to a T wing but it is excruciatingly painful I do do a lot of fishing at night and I could definitely see the benefits of that
