Sorry Boone, he only really builds for himself and close friends... for now anyway.

Boone, I built the rod for Cal and yes, he is correct when he says that "for now" I'm not taking any orders. My life at the moment is very full and does not allow the time needed to build rods, as it is only a side business. Cal was a saint, and patiently waited almost a year for that rod.

Stay tuned and I'll let you all know when I'm ready to take orders again.

Thanks for your interest and thanks Cal for posting the pic. I hope it brings you heavy nets.

p.s. Cal, that hnmg lure is way cool, the detail is astounding. As an artist, I'm really impressed by the skills of those lure painters.

Hate to tell ya Skeete, but if you're scraping for a Megabass rod, you don't have the Ben's to convince Janeck for a Custom... :)

Nah I could get a MB rod, but could they give me a better warrenty, hmmm I dont think so. :? I know, I know there great rods, but its a joke when they have a one year warrenty for something of that cost. Id cry if by some horrible chance it broke. Ill get one once I get the 103hl HAHA. :P Love the masterwork on the rods though both MB and the custom loomis.

Cal I have the same HMNG Duct Popper. Have you had a chance to use it? I threw mine a few times to check out the action of it. I am going to give it some more work this weekend. I have a two day tournament on Clark's Hill.

Matt, actually, the rod is surprisingly comfortable to use. It probably helps that the CB843 is a very soft blank. If I were cranking deep divers all day, it might be an issue. Mark and I were going after more the look of the rod more than anything else anyway ;)

KBT,

Yeah.. I actually bought it in both sizes. I've thrown the larger one, just to check it out and am actually a little disappointed in the action. I like my poppers to make a nice "bloop" sound and this one doesn't do that. I'm sure it'll work though. The splash it makes is more natural than that "bloop" to which I'm accustomed, but I didn't really buy them to fish. :)

If you like a nice "BLOOP", give these a shot, they are just like a Pop-R in shape, but they make a very unique "BLOOP". The long tail feathers are a serious added bonus.
