Wow. Both look great. The bottom one looks best IMO. I like the way the paint plays with the blank color yet it still has the red accents to compliment the rod's red bits.

Epic day,
cold and nasty but I had to try.. kistler H3 rod , 20# floro and that Antares AR I got from here with the Yumeya shallow spool and Ian tuned.. I was flipping magnum Shakey Heads.. Dirty Jigs to be exact, and I think I am on to something with flippin a shakey head.

St. Croix LE 7'4" with Bantam XG is probably my favorite right now. 50#braid and I have been putting bass on notice with jigs.
Smoothe retrieve and smooth casting. Too bad work calls and I have to leave the states. :crying:

This is my BFS collection:

What’s missing is I need another 12 Aldebaran BFS XG and I have a 16 Aldebaran BFS XG that is not in the pic. I’m hopeful that I can get a stick for it this Christmas.

Top to bottom.....

Poison Glorious 164L Multi Role that needs a reel.
165L Expride with a ZPI Aldebaran Mg-7
168L Poison Glorious Long Distance with a ZPI Aldebaran Mg-7
166L Poison Glorious Hardbait Finesse witha 12 Aldebaran BFS XG
KTF Fenwick 6’ GWT CLJ with a 12 Aldebaran BFS XG with Avail ALD1224 spool
KTF Fenwick 6’2” GWT CULJ with a 12 Aldebaran BFS XG with KTF spool
Fenwick 6’4” GLT CLJ with a 12 Aldebaran BFS XG with Avail ALD1224 spool

I think that third rod has a Keitech Spin jig??? I really like the 5/32 version of those with a 3" Easy Shiner or Tiny Paca Chunk. Great rods and reels though. Can you still find those Fenwicks?

Thank you. Yes it’s the 5/32oz Keitech Spin Jig with a Keitech Little Spider trailer. The top and bottom Fenwicks were bought from a member here and the middle one was unused and bought by me on Yahoo a short time ago.

It finally found me. I was intrigued by the new zbones, but thought no way am I paying that much for a bare bones build no matter how good the blank and guide train. Then came black friday sale...

I've been thinking about my build a bear steez for about two years. Here's how I build my bear: left, 8.1 gears and Merican-sized 1016 spool and 95mm handle. It sits on a ZB5H76.

I've had the opportunity to fish some cool gear as I've gotten old. As it does likely everyone, the thought crosses my mind: can it really get any better. Yeah... I'm glad this found me. Pulling big girls from the gnarly, but beautiful stuff just beneath the water in those pics was never such a joy. This set up is bound to become indispensable for me in FL. Yesterday, I had to leave the boat and march 25 yards to retrieve a 5-6lber. Had her pinned in the weeds with this beast of set up where no boat can go. :big grin:
