Rod and reel heaven

Post by BasserJim » Fri Nov 10, 2017 12:50 pm

Thanks so much to Gary and Brian at The Tackle Trap for getting my little slice of rod and reel heaven on earth shipped my way this week. :D 843s SJR and a C3000XG. Can't wait to test this thing out on some smallies!

I can't think of a high end spinning stick that didn't perfectly match a Stella. That real seems quite universal in its ability to match visually. Enjoy those master tools on the water!

I always love seeing these and day dreaming (or jotting them down) for my ultimate collection one day...

I posted earlier about really liking this setup, but I forgot to mention, if it came down to having ONLY one nice setup for fishing, I would take a maxed out top of the line spinning setup like this. For the fishing I do, having the ability to present finesse lures with the drag to back em is key. My Revo spinning has made it only one season, Stradic has made it 3.5, and I figure as soon as I complete school I will get something upper tier. What do you plan on doing with this combo?

I bought it primarily for throwing tubes and vision 110s. It may see some Drop shot action on the day’s Erie is angry.

Have a few friends that throw jerkbaits on spinning setups. I haven't personally tried it, but I used to fish flukes on stout Medium spinning rods just because how far the would bomb and how much you can feel on light braid.
