**New set of MB offerings**

Post by Cristo » Wed Jun 28, 2017 2:36 pm

Thank you to Mr. GW and the folks at 3T!!! As usual honors for broker of the year go to Mr. Wood!! Patience finally paid off for the Destroyer 30th ltd Gambler which more than likely will be laced with what you see on it now. Big ups as well for the nifty hyuga 64 light in 2 pc config. Same deal the chronarch set up on that will probably be as is. Of course more photos if warranted as well as input and thoughts on these wonderful sticks. Quick shots...enjoy and thank you TTers :big grin:

Whats your plan for techs on your gambler?
This thing seems like a pitchers dream... I like the feel of it better than a few rods I have and the silver piece on the handle seems to help out in balance.

For starters since the weeds are really coming up in some of our reservoirs I'm going to go ahead and sick the 65 lb braid, and half ounce tungsten T rig set up with a 5/0 ewg, and kinky beaver plastic on our buckets here. Pick those lips off chilling in the salad. I would magine she'll fish very similar to the Fisto twins that I have. I am definitely excited she'll see a lot of different techniques for sure but I'm going to go ahead and try to slay these suckers out here with the braid and plastics through our weed growth.. did pretty damn well last year doing that :big grin: how about yourself goldrod? I fish from a kayak so pitching really isn't in my rotation. I do feel that pitching in a boat would be bad arse ;)

Great looking setups you got there! 8-) Love the blinged out Chronarch and some of the gems in the family photo!

As for me, jigs, jigs, jigs
I played around with the combo the other day and
seems to be natural for this rod... I will expand but start with jigs

The hyuga 64L ready to party. This compliment of reactions will get first
crack with 4lb P-Line CXX ;) I believe I have 1/4oz starting with Bagley small frys, 5/16oz for Rapala shad raps (favorite of many I believe) and up to 3/8oz with MB S crank 1.2, Jackall Aska, Ima Square Bill, Jackall Cherry 56, and MB Diving Flap Slap, the rest ar JBs in same 3/8oz range with Ima Flit 100, Jackall Squirrels, DD78s and XD78s by LC and MB Trick darter X80 +1. :big grin: Then next tech will be DS and lighter than normal bottom contact and small trout type lures such as spinners of various configurations. Thanks TTers.....

Obviously I didn't catch anything but this thing is a really nifty light reaction stick. Very receptive to all the lures I tried in the above pictures I think it makes a really slick jerkbait rod for someone in a boat. Next stop will be bottom contact. definitely drop shot will be tried , this Rod reminds me a lot of the second generation crucial 6'5" drop shot rod by Shimano. It's a tad bit stiffer though to me but still has a sweet tip to it. I could definitely feel that this Rod will have plenty of backbone for the appropriate fishing situation of course ;) I was casting all the lures and weight ranges pretty easily the only thing keeping a mind is when I went down to quarter ounce I had to adjust my tension knob slightly but it really sings out the heavier spectrum of the 3/8 ounce lures shown. Really dug the flit and the trick darters, for lightet the bagleys and shad raps were super rad! highly doubt I would go any heavier just cuz I don't need it to but I could see possibly going even half ounce depending on the type of lure if it was top water for sure.

Side note to add.....the casting distance was super awesome without having to put too much effort into my mechanics plus I was only using one brake block on the avail honeycomb spool that is on that Chronarch.

Some nice stuff there Cristo! Is that Hyuga a 2 piece? I've thought it'd be cool to have one too but I have a problem getting over the 2 piece aspect.
Got my Anniversary Destroyer Gambler a few days ago too, and man oh man is it sweet. I'll be posting my own thread on it soon. Planning to take advantage of that mod-fast action and use it for chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, and small swimbaits.

I took Gambler out for 4 hours on the yak at Saggie last and man, not a single bite. Try again this weekend. So want to crush the cherry! Patience though, she behaves just as anticpated, very much like the Fisto twins. Anyway the multi piece and 2 piece rods I have thus far are dope! It took me forever to get over it and pull the trigger as I didn't like the idea of those or telescoping types. Super happy with them ;) I like it as they are unique but very practical. I like fishing anytime any where and those really help make that happen :big grin:
