Some more detailed shots of the ferrule connections. This Rod is an amazing build, very tight tolerances, light overall in weight and balanced with a 7ish oz reel. I personally have not had experience with multi-piece rods, beyond the off set handle style, and only telescoping so this is a real treat for me very excited

Re: **2015 X4 Secret Service Cyclone**
Beautiful stick. I thought this particular model came with an Eva grip?
Re: **2015 X4 Secret Service Cyclone**
To my knowledge the previous iteration did this is the latest released in 2015.
Re: **2015 X4 Secret Service Cyclone**
Beautiful rod! Never had a telescoping rod; what's that feel like to you? I always worried a bit about joint weakness and sensitivity loss, but I guess if you're using it for crankbaits you probably aren't too worried about the latter.Cristo wrote:She arrived today and was waiting when I got home from trabajo. she is pretty rad thus far going to give her a roll tonight. Re: **2015 X4 Secret Service Cyclone**
the telescoping rod I had god rest her soul at the bottom of Saggie was an X4 Black Python. Sick rod and very sensitive! The Backpacker multi piece did very well tonight with reaction lures I threw in the 3/8oz range with the Norman Deep Little N tonight getting the lion's share of the work along with S crank 1.2. unfortunately no fish yet, spent more time paddling with some buddies. I definitely feel like she is going to be a fine bottom contact rod. will
plan DS, sinking plastics and some light t rigging in the near future. The tip is lively

Another sweet set up, Cristo. Congrats.
I was always curious about the Secret Service muliti-pieace rods and their performance.
Please let me know how it performs

Re: **2015 X4 Secret Service Cyclone**
I will certainly keep you guys posted. I'll see if I can get a power curve shot up as well. it's pretty smooth consistent for being a multi-piece and I stated before the tip is sweet
Re: **2015 X4 Secret Service Cyclone**
That's sweet! Definitely better looking than the reg x4 cyclone
Re: **2015 X4 Secret Service Cyclone**
Definitely not scientific but here is a rough look at her power curve under varied loads obviously you can see some variations where the ferrules meet. In my limited experience that does not hinder the rod one bit at least in cranking in reaction fishing that I've tried. I look forward to putting it through its paces with bottom contact presentations. I find the way it is built practical in that the action doesn't seem to be hindered by being a multi piece staff although from the pictures it would seem that way. The last piece and at this point I would say the crown jewel of this rig is really the tip is just really fun on this stick it's hard to really explain. I believe I will thoroughly enjoy this rod and maximize its capabilities as far as travel which I do quite a bit of and I always like to fish Wherever I Go so this gives a really nice option. I definitely see this staying in a vehicle at all times with a reel with multiple spools ready to battle
