I have been messing around with a DIY spool in my Zillion and Fuego fleet trying to see where it shines. I was out last night throwing bluegill colored baits for post spawn bass. It wasn't until the end of the night that my buddy asked if I was throwing sensimilla colored baits on purpose to represent for my homies. This 47 year-old ain't a dope smoker, but I may have started a tradition because I was wearing em out.
I make a little 1/4 oz. spinner bait with Nature's Edge green pumpkin and a few strands of orange that look a lot like the sensimilla. It has a gold blade that looks like a rappers grille, so I will call it "Rapper's Backstage Delight". I usually put a little orange on the head of my 4' green pumpkin Senkos. The DIY spool did well with both baits and 8 lb. Sniper. I bought the spool to throw small cranks and topwaters. It works well for those also.

I really like that spool. It holds enough #20 braid to be useable for 1/4 oz baits unlike most of the other DIY spools. Game changer of a spool for TD-Z 100/US Trail, TD Fuego and TD Zillion reels.

It is nice to finally have a really light spool for the platform that doesn't have the ridiculous price tag of the Megabass finesse spool. I just hope that it is durable. I went for the one with no holes in hopes of a little more durability.LowRange wrote:I really like that spool.
