Special thanks to Gary from The Tackle Trap for hooking me up with the Mephisto. Fantastic to work with as always. Wow, what a rod! The detailing, color concept and the build quality are all just flawless. Pictures truly do not do this rod justice. The new Z balances really well on it, and the rod feels so light and much shorter in my hands. Couldn't be happier! Now just have to get through the winter...
It should perform most heavy duty apps with ease and style.

I plan to use it for froggin' primarily, but I can imagine throwing many other baits on it from mag topwaters to some bigger moving baits to pitchin' jigs around cover. I'm just a major sucker for a frog biteCyacnba wrote:Beautiful setup! The Z looks so sleek too, what are you planning on using it for?
Thanks Gary! You were right, the color scheme really allows it to go with many different reels. It doesn't look as good as that Topaz, but I am happy with the the combo aesthetically and can't wait to see how it performs.bronzefly wrote:That Z looks a lot better on there than I had anticipated, I'm pleasantly surprised! Congratulations on an incredible combo and thank you for posting
This is my first Z, and it feels like its built like a tank! Just raw power in your hands. I really like the finish...the black matte looks slick and the racing stripes are a really subtle, yet bada$$ touch.klondike1024 wrote:Beautiful setup. How do you like that finish on the Z2020 Black LTD? Those Z2020's are a beast.
