Nice rod. I always like seeing the ones that are a bit more unique.

Very nice. I've always wondered about the Deps rods. A Deps Zillion would look pretty nice on it.

My Deps DR-100ZXL Zillion is on my Dobyns DX 795 Flip. Don't think I would like a 7.9:1 reel that didn't have a drag on a topwater rod. Going to try a Megabass IP 68L first.LowRange wrote:Very nice. I've always wondered about the Deps rods. A Deps Zillion would look pretty nice on it.

Re: New Topwater Rod
Took the rod out for the first time today. Its a sturdy rod with a slow taper so it has a nice bend to it. It is rated X-heavy, 1/4 oz to 1 oz lure rating, so it works well with bigger topwaters like the super spook. With the slow taper it works well with bigger shallow to mid crankbaits. I'm new to fishing topwaters. Done it a few times, but need to practice to get better at it. The 6'4" rod with the short handle make it easy to work topwater baits. I have fished the super spook on my Dobyns Champion 734 and it works well with that rod, but if you want to fish topwaters in the 1oz range at a closer distance this rod is pretty sweet.firefisher wrote:Great looking rod.. The Deps ZDV looks worn to me like a pair of faded blue jeans. The IP 68L looks good on it, the colors match well.Teal101 wrote:Yeah the Deps ZDV would be a great match.LowRange wrote:Very nice. I've always wondered about the Deps rods. A Deps Zillion would look pretty nice on it.
