Steez SV TW 1016SH
Re: Steez SV TW 1016SH
Doesn't IP series have finer gears than J-Dream series?
Re: Steez SV TW 1016SH
So the J-Dream is still a contender.rugbyfisherman wrote:
I can't compare it to the new Zillion unfortunately - I haven't held a new Zillion. There is a decent amount of plastic inside the new Steez but the G1 main drive gear and retrieve itself feel very very good to me. Not as refined as say a Daiwa J-Dream but close. The Steez SV TW G1 main gear has micro teeth (similar to the J-Dream and Shimano Stella) - the new Steez SV TW feels more smooth and connected (for lack of a better term) than my older tuned Steezes, ito 103m, R+'s with brass or aluminum gears. It's a distinctly less geary feel on the new Steez SV TW than many of my other reels.
Is all that plastic a concern for most ?

It very well could. I may have mixed them up.IAY wrote:Doesn't IP series have finer gears than J-Dream series?
I'm not too worried about the plastic. It can be replaced easily if needed but I'm sure its engineered really well.
Re: Steez SV TW 1016SH
Any pics of it on a rod? Maybe even on a rod in your hand?

I would not be worried about it either. Sounds like its a really nice well built machine. I am going to purchase a MGL first, but this one is next...rugbyfisherman wrote:It very well could. I may have mixed them up.IAY wrote:Doesn't IP series have finer gears than J-Dream series?

I would just get a ZPI spool for your old '13 Met and use money saved to buy the Steez TW.IAY wrote:I would not be worried about it either. Sounds like its a really nice well built machine. i wouldn't be concerned about the plastic. The ryoga reels have plastic gears for the levelwind and plastic clutch. No issues at all with mine. And i have 4 of the super tough reels.StarTzar wrote:So the J-Dream is still a contender.rugbyfisherman wrote:

How much can I get for a non vital organ on the black market? Need to rack them funds up!
Re: Steez SV TW 1016SH
I'd have to give some serious thought to selling my Calcutta to fund one of these.biggs wrote:I'm not worried either.

I look forward to handling one of these to see if it's worth a purchase. There's no doubt that the handle will have to be replaced with a 90mm version. Will a standard nut (i.e. Alphas, Steez SV, or OG Zillion) work on that drive shaft?
Re: Steez SV TW 1016SH
Man, that smooth surface and satin black paint really reminds me of my beloved Z2020H. Going to have to get me one of these boys later, but going to wait a bit and see if Megabass has something brewing up for the Steez TW.

Got to try it today. It's SWEET!

Looks sweet, which Destroyer is that?. I bet it would also look real nice on my Gunslinger Inspirare bk rod.biggs wrote:Got to try it today. It's SWEET!
