Point Blank custom

Post by igl00jx » Thu Mar 10, 2016 12:32 pm

Requested Legendary Custom Creations in MI for a light bait rod in casting from the PB661LF blank.
Wanted a rod that was 6', so requested 6" removed from the butt section. An Andrews reel seat and rear grip adorning the rod and wraps that are reminiscent of my heritage were added. Guide train is a mix of SS alconite and titanium SiC guides (running guides SS, tip top and stripper TiSiC).
Rod is currently in the finishing stages and will ship out tomorrow.
Here are pictures from the builder himself.
Reel that will be riding shotgun is an SX Morrum that is currently with the resident reelsmith (ebassfisher)
Pics below. Enjoy

Thanks all.
I'm Hmong, so the wraps mirror the embroidery that is found in our traditional clothing.
I can see where the Irish connection was made (green wraps)

The rod will have to wait just a tad longer :(
All is good though. Builder was upfront with what was happening, so I'll patiently await on its arrival.

Wow, that looks great!! If it fishes half as good as it looks, you got a winner!

Tossed this for a few minutes in the backyard yesterday. 1/8 oz is the sweet spot for as light is it'll go. Kept spooling the reel each cast with an 1/8 oz spoon. Reel has been tamed immensely and has a very linear feel to its adjustability thanks to Ian.

Far faster than imagined, even with 6" cut from the butt. Can only imagine what the full working length looks like.

Can't wait to rip crappie lips tomorrow!

Very few rods can compare to a well crafted and thought out custom. =D>
