Might just be coincidence but the only shimano reels to give me issues were made in Malaysia so I lean towards Japan made as well now.triple_illusion wrote:made in malaysia

Did you weigh the empty Curado 70 spool? Curious to know if it weighs less than the USDM spool, which is around 15.7g I think.

There's a post in the enthusiast section with the spool weight. Around 15.6 grams, I believe, for the scorpion 70.
