My modest little reel

Post by Aaronb » Fri Aug 08, 2014 9:20 am

My wife got this for me back at Christmas. I decided to take a few pictures of it today in my free time. Ignore the dirty fishing line. In north central Kansas all we have is mud rivers. I just have it on a 13 Fishing Omen Black right now. Looking at getting a Megabass rod, so it's a matched set or maybe a custom rod. Happy to have it on something right now, so I can try it out.

You do realize that having that reel sitting on that rod is pretty much sacrilege, right? And to think you gave me unending static about an old quantum hiding in a pic lol.....for shame, for shame......lmao, man I love karma....
Alright, messin with ya aside lol, you know that is a gorgeous reel right there, even tho I am not fond of red, the Lin 10 is spectacular in all of its variations....recently picked up a zirconia meteor myself, but haven't used it yet, having a hard time getting out fishing lately with work and the kid and such...how does it fish? Feel like it met your expectations? Can't wait until I get a chance to try mine out, but right now Id settle for fishing vicariously thru you :D

Lol. Yeah I know. I just wanted a chance to try it out. Work is slow, so I've been unfortunately been having to budget till it picks up. I considered leaving in the box till I got a fancy rod for it, but thought what the heck. It's a really nice fishing reel. Smooth and strong. Only issue I really have is worrying about scratching. Lol. I'm thinking of getting a heavy power rod for it, so it gets a little heavier duty work, since they are nice little powerhouses.

I always wanted a Mars and the one I saw with a red Livre handle was just pure orgasm. I just wish they make one in viola and then I might not be able to refuse the monkey.

There's a Megabass Nautilus in the TT for sale section that would pair up nicely.

That could be the next reel on my list. Very, very nice.

Beauty! It definitely needs a Megabass rod as a mate though. So many choices that are great matches for the MARS!!

Thanks for the comments. I'm looking to get a Megabass rod for it. Just haven't decided on application in the line up. I don't throw big swimbaits, so an SRD might be too much.
