Post by cndbasshunter » Tue Jul 22, 2014 12:36 pm

Just picked up a TD-Ito in great condition and decided to add a little new school to it. This is my second TD-Ito and won't be the last.

Hedge Hog AIR bearings
Carbontex Drag
6.3:1 Gear Upgrade

Someday I will find a pristine condition Ito :(, its absolutely stunning. How hard is it to keep them in good condition? I know that people complain about paint chipping etc.

Considering the reels are 10+ years old not bad. I do notice some small pin hole paint buble on the bottom. Other than that the odd scratch is bound to happen, adds character. I dont plan on ever selling my daiwa / megabass reels.

Reel cover. If you pull the reel cover off, put it in your back pocket,
fish with the reel/rod, and then put the reel cover back on the reel before you set it down to grab another rod, you can keep the reel looking awesome.

I found one with very minor marks on top. I almost died when I put my first ding in it. I understand now how hard it is to keep them pristine. Reel cover almost all the time. I dumped it landing a fish on the bank.

I love the purple cast cap. Think I might put one on mine.

Sweet looking reel! Mine is very similar, except I changed to a matching spool.

Of all the Daiwa LP reels past and present, I still think the TD-Z was their finest effort (and the Ito, the prettiest).

Some very sweet upgrades. =D> Just enough purple to set it off. Have you tried a black reel nut instead of purple for more contrast against the retainer? :-k The CC Knob is "killer" good looking. I need to source one for my Steez. :D

Well done sir, well done. =D>

Not bad...nice for skipping as the control is the best I've used. For casting I prefer the RCS1012 spool.

Looks solid. Now you need a custom rod with an Ito colored reel seat and purple accents from Matagi to go with it.
