Smashing Smallies Prespawn

Post by dhottle » Wed May 28, 2014 3:07 am

Had some buddies up for spring fishing lake erie for smallies. We fished hard and managed to get a few good ones. The frozen winter this year really changed the normal warm up of the water & affected fish movement much differently than years past. We even managed a few walleye when the smallies were not biting.

WOW!

those are some nice smallies!

I was @ Lake Ontario over memorial weekend and it was painful to just watch from the shore and not join in the fun.

Beautiful! The cold winter has changed a lot. Everything seems 3-4 weeks late.

Beautiful fish. Those would eat the smallies around here. I think my biggest is about 12".

Just so you know, dhottle, I'm no longer reading your posts. All they do is make me cry from jealousy. It's not me, it's you.

Prespawn? Hmm....

Ive made two trips to Presque Isle and it's been disappointing. I thought maybe the spawn was already over.

Nice looking fish though!
