It is a first. (Pictures addded)

Post by TeamDaiwaRick » Wed Mar 26, 2014 10:46 am

So I came home to this. This is my first rod from this particular company.

Edited:

Here it is.... my first Gladiator rod. Model: G711MHC - Slugger. 7'11"/ Fast Taper/ 1/4-1 oz./ 10-20 lb. It is a 2-pc rod that detaches at the handle. Rod weights about 5.4 oz. It balances very well with my JDM 7.3 Limited Zillion. I have a Z200 that I may try to use on this rod too.

I am assuming JDM since I can't read all of the writing on the box. When will we see the unveiling?

Haha we have a knock off brand called gladiator here as well. Not the same company as your rod. Looks stunning!

Looks great. What are you going to use it for? The combination of 7'11", fast action, and less than 1oz baits would mean shore fishing for me.

Mainly for deep open water bottom contact baits and open water spinnerbait 1/2 oz. or more. I may use it for paddle tail swimbaits too, we'll see...

Wow that cork has got to be the most beautiful one i have ever seen. How much did it end up costing you shipped?

I had to pay extra for shipping due to the length of the rod. I ended up paying about $130 for Fedex shipping. Fortunately, I didn't have to pay any custom fee and I got a great deal on the rod.
