Not finesse, but old school power....

Post by Gulfcoastwader » Thu Feb 27, 2014 7:52 am

Alot of finesse custom Shimanos on the board, but here's old school power reel updated for 2014.

I think I remember posting pic of Cal's work long ago, but here's an update.

- was silver now white Calcutta 200
- carbontex drag washers
- Boca 7's
- upgraded spool shaft bushing to bearing
- ZPI SSRC handle with septon power knobs
- will have Xtreme reel+ on bearings and levelwind (currently bearings are dry along with levelwind)
- Shimano Permalube on the gears

Sharp! Just the right amount of white/silver/black. Can't tell in the pics, but some silver or white handle knob caps would be icing on the cake.

My first two baitcasters I bought with my own money were 150/250 gold calcuttas. Still have the 250 but it's in need of an overhaul.

That is one sweet looking beast of a reel! My only gripe is the grey line guide. Get that thing painted black and it will match perfectly in with the black/white color scheme. :D

Dude! With bearing upgrades, a lighter spool, and a four bearing carbon handle, these reels would still kick @$$! 8-)
